Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how Magill Digital, LLC handles information through ScanSteer.

Information account holders provide

We collect account names, email addresses, password-derived authentication data, organization information, destinations, schedule rules, QR preferences, team invitations, support messages, and related settings.

Billing information

Stripe Managed Payments and Link process subscriptions, payment methods, invoices, applicable transaction taxes, and payment-related support as merchant of record. ScanSteer receives identifiers and subscription status needed to provide the correct plan. We do not store complete card numbers.

Scan analytics

When someone opens a QR code, we may record the time, QR code, approximate country/region/city supplied by our network provider, referring hostname, and general device type. We use a keyed one-way hash to estimate unique daily visitors. ScanSteer does not store the visitor’s raw IP address in scan analytics.

How information is used

We use information to operate redirects, authenticate users, deliver requested features, process subscriptions, send account messages, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, respond to support, and improve reliability.

Sharing

We use service providers needed to operate ScanSteer, including Cloudflare for hosting and network services, Stripe for billing, and a transactional email provider. We do not sell personal information or use scan histories for third-party advertising.

Retention

Account and QR code records remain while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for recovery, legal, security, and operational needs. Analytics visibility follows plan limits. Some aggregate, audit, billing, or backup records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary.

Your choices

Account holders may update their profile, destinations, schedules, and team records in the dashboard. Subscription changes are available through Stripe’s Customer Portal. Requests concerning access or deletion may be sent to privacy@scansteer.com.

Security and updates

We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this Policy and will post the new effective date.
